Competency test ordered for suspect in Centerville shooting

FARMINGTON -- A judge has ordered a mental competency evaluation to be done for a woman who police say had a role in the shooting of her neighbor.

KAYSVILLE -- A federal briefing for Davis entities that experienced heavy property damage in the Dec. 1 windstorm will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Kaysville City Hall, 23 E. Center St.

Kohl’s meets warranty period

CENTERVILLE -- Kohl’s Department Store has met its warranty period; thus, the city council approved releasing the remaining security of roughly $35,000.

The store, located at 200 N. Frontage Road, was given final site plan approval from the planning commission on June 27, 2007. The warranty period started Sept. 1, 2009. With the engineer inspection finished and with a stamp of approval, the warranty period has been terminated.

The termination was delayed more than a year while the city awaited some required repairs, which Kohl’s had to do. With those finished, the department store is able to get back its remaining cash bond.

CENTERVILLE — Police are seeking the public’s help in locating Julia Amelia Higbee (aka Julia Herzog), a 41-year-old female, for numerous property and identity fraud crimes.

Centerville starts theater project warranty period

The city council opted to start the warranty period for a theater project, with the developer posting a security of roughly $109,000.

The Legacy Crossing Theaters project, 1250 West Parrish Lane, was ready to start its warranty period Jan. 3. Officials recently approved this commencement during a regularly scheduled meeting.

This project received plan approval on Sept. 21, 2010.

With the engineer’s stamp of approval, the developer will post a security in the amount of $109,324.11, which includes an amount to secure completion of a few remaining improvements.

3rd competency evaluation sought in Centerville shooting over 'telepathic rape'

FARMINGTON -- The results of a third evaluation are expected to show whether Michael L. Selleneit is competent to stand trial for shooting his neighbor.

Selleneit, 52, of Centerville, appeared before Judge Thomas L. Kay on Thursday. However, prosecutors could not proceed with the case because of conflicting results from two competency evaluations.
