Clinton legislator seeks relief from police when lawfully carrying firearm

SALT LAKE CITY -- A local lawmaker thinks people should be able to legally carry a firearm without the threat of being charged with disorderly conduct by local police.

Citizens on Patrol seeks members in Clinton

The police department is seeking applicants for Citizens on Patrol. Citizens are urged to become members and help the police department be more proactive with crime prevention.

Applications are also being accepted for the Clinton City Youth Court. Teenagers 15 to 17 years old are encouraged to join and become positive role models for their peers and the community.

Clinton seeking funds for road job

CLINTON -- Already looking ahead to the year 2018, the city has applied for federal funds to improve a one-mile stretch of 3000 West from 1300 North to 2300 North.

Clinton waiting for replacement truck

CLINTON -- The Clinton Fire Department is awaiting the arrival of a new deputy chief response vehicle because the former vehicle was destroyed in a crash.

On Nov. 22, Deputy Dave Olsen was responding to an emergency call when he was hit at 1800 N. 2000 West by a driver who failed to yield to the flashing lights and blaring sirens.

Police nab 3 in BB gun vandalism spree

CLINTON — Three men arrested for vandalism say they can’t remember every city they drove through as they used BB guns and airsoft guns to destroy approximately 100 car windows, causing damage estimated at $200,000.

Police seeking vandal(s) in car window shooting episodes

Nearly 60 residents in two Top of Utah cities have found their car windows destroyed this week, as police try to discover if the same person or group is responsible for all the damage.

Clinton wants to hear ideas from residents

The city council will hold several information-gathering meetings to begin the process of updating the general plan.

The purpose of the meetings is to hear residents’ ideas and desires to plan for the future of the city.

According to City Planner Steve Parkinson, the general plan for the city was last updated in 1984. Dates, as printed in the Clinton newsletter include: Jan. 31, Feb. 10 and Feb. 24, tentatively March 5, and if needed March 16. All meetings will be held at the Clinton Recreation Center located at 1651 W. 2300 North, each starting at 7 p.m.

Missteps haunt two city councils in Davis

Three members of the Sunset City Council may have overstepped their legal bounds Jan. 10 when they adopted a resolution removing Mayor Chad Bangerter from the Wasatch Integrated Waste Management Board and replaced him with newly elected Councilman Kevin Snow.

Three dogs saved from Clinton house fire

CLINTON -- Daisy, Dottie and Sasha barked at the firefighters who were picking up equipment and rolling up fire hoses.

Daisy, the Jack Russell; Dottie, the Rat Terrier; and Sasha, the Boxer; did not show any gratitude for being rescued from a smoke-filled house that had a fire in the attached garage on Thursday.
