Flooding emergency hits Eden

EDEN -- A flooding emergency shifted from Liberty to Eden on Friday and the Ogden Valley communities still have two more storms on the way.

Driver error blamed for vehicle rollover

EDEN -- Four people who were in a vehicle that rolled one-third of the way down Powder Mountain Road about 4 p.m. Monday escaped serious injury.

Snowbasin stuffed for Thanksgiving

SNOWBASIN -- While many shoppers arose well before the crack of dawn today to take advantage of Black Friday shopping deals, Marshall McGonegal and his friends opted for Black Thursday.

McGonegal, of Eden, was first in line to board the Needles Gondola at Snowbasin as it opened its lifts for the 2011-12 season -- his reward for arriving at the resort around 3:30 a.m. Thursday.

A bride late for her wedding drives up Ogden Canyon and is never seen again, at least not alive. An enormous German shepherd prowls a cemetery, standing guard over its master's grave. A young Weber High School student meets a mysterious, handsome hitchhiker, and they decide to play in the snow together at Powder Mountain.

Helen Colianna, born Oct. 4, 1919, died of complications of Alzheimer's disease and a stroke Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011, at the home of her daughter in Eden.
