Grain drill damaged in attempted theft in Elwood

ELWOOD -- Owners of the Nelson Family Farm on the 9200 North block of State Road 13 likely will have difficulty recovering from the damage to their grain drill.

Police reports indicate the drill, which is valued at $30,000, likely was totaled when a thief wrecked the piece of machinery while trying to steal it at 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

Names released in fatal accident near Elwood

ELWOOD -- Officials released the name of the 15-year-old Providence girl who died Saturday following a car accident that afternoon, as well as the names of four others in the vehicle.

Madison Kimball, who was the left-rear passenger in a white 1999 Oldsmobile Alero that, according to witnesses, failed to stop at a stop sign, was transported to Bear River Valley Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The vehicle was traveling east on 8000 North and failed to stop at State Road 13, south of the city of Elwood, according to a release from Utah Highway Patrol.
