Brent Gardner Abbott, 96, died Saturday, March 23, 2013, at his Herriman home. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 29, at the Rosecrest 4th Ward, 14400 S. 6400 West, Herriman. A viewing will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 28, at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Road, Taylorsville, and again Friday at the church from noon to 12:45 p.m. Entombment will be in the Mountain View Mausoleum in Reno, Nev., on Monday, April 1. SALT LAKE CITY -- A 55-year-old Utah man has been arrested in the disappearance of a teenage girl last week that set off a massive search involving 1,000 volunteers in freezing temperatures.

HERRIMAN — A 13-year-old girl who disappeared this week without shoes or a coat in chilly weather has been found unharmed, but questions abound about where she was and what she was doing while 1,000 volunteers searched for her for two days.

Fire burns Herriman foothills

HERRIMAN — Officials in Utah say a wildfire has burned several structures in the foothills around Herriman and forced evacuations.

A full scale rendition of the house in the animated movie, "Up," located a in Herriman, will be part of this year's Parade of Homes. The house has been sold to a family who are self-described Disney and Pixar fanatics. Clinton and Lynette Hamblin of Petaluma, Calif., are buying the home for $400,000. The Hamblins say they were searching for a home in California that was similar to the colorful cottage seen in the movie when they heard about the Disney-approved "Up" house in Utah.

Utah home inspired by Disney movie 'Up' sold

SALT LAKE CITY -- Two self-described Disney "fanatics" have purchased a house in Utah modeled after the colorful home featured in the animated movie "Up."

Discovering the house in the Salt Lake City suburb of Herriman, Utah, was a dream come true for Clinton and Lynette Hamblin of Petaluma, Calif. The couple had been looking for a house with some of the same flourishes as the one in the movie, such as a multi-colored exterior or a blue kitchen with retro appliances.
