FARMINGTON -- Nadine Simon saw the impact a fire had in a Herriman neighborhood earlier this year and is worried that any kind of small fire could quickly turn into a major disaster in one of the city's newer developments.
HERRIMAN - The BLM's regional wild horse and burro facility here is addressing an outbreak of "equine distemper," an upper respiratory infection, which is linked to the death of eleven wild horses at the facility.

HERRIMAN -- Police in Utah told hundreds of families Tuesday they would be kept out of their homes for a third night while firefighters and the Army National Guard battled a wildfire ignited by guard members during weekend machine-gun training.
HERRIMAN -- The commander of the Utah Army National Guard took responsibility Monday for a fast-moving wildfire that led to the evacuation of 1,600 homes, saying Guard officials erred when they allowed live-fire training despite high-wind warnings.
HERRIMAN -- A large, fast-moving fire broke out at the Camp Williams machine-gun range around 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Utah National Guard Lt. Col. Hank McIntire said. The blaze caused Herriman City Mayor Josh Mills to declare a state of emergency.
