DEWEYVILLE — Damage may top $1 million in a Wednesday afternoon fire that destroyed a 7,500-square-foot recycling facility in this small town east of Tremonton.

Woman and baby burned stoking fire

HONEYVILLE -- A 20-year-old woman and her 10-month-old baby received moderate burns on their hands just before 5 p.m. Monday when the mother was pouring gas on a fire in a home fireplace.

Program prepares migrant children for school

HONEYVILLE -- In a few weeks, a group of 25 children from migrant families will start kindergarten. Thanks to a Head Start program, the children will have the necessary tools to help them get a firm foothold in their education.

ATV rider dies after Honeyville accident

BRIGHAM CITY -- A 70-year-old man died at Brigham City Community Hospital Wednesday night after an all-terrain vehicle accident.

ATV rider, age 70, injured by fall into silage pit

HONEYVILLE -- A 70-year-old man was in serious condition Wednesday after he fell 16 feet on an all-terrain vehicle.

The man was riding his ATV when he came too close to a neighbor's silage pit, which is used to store fertilizer, near 6300 North on Highway 38. At 8 p.m., he and the ATV fell into the deep end, which is a 16-foot drop, said Box Elder County Sheriff's Chief Kevin Potter.

HONEYVILLE - Walter Casper Hatch, 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City, Utah. A viewing will be held on Sunday, August 7th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 to 10:40 a.m. at the funeral chapel. HONEYVILLE -- The hot springs of natural mineral water at Crystal Hot Springs are still open for business, but two swimming pools that had a chemical leak last weekend will remain closed until further notice.
