KANOSH -- A sheriff’s deputy shot and killed a car theft suspect who led police on a high-speed chase and struggled with a deputy who tried to handcuff him during the arrest, the Millard County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.
The shooting occurred Monday evening after police responded to a report of a vehicle theft at the Kanosh Paiute Indian Reservation.
Authorities located the vehicle, but the driver led police in a pursuit over paved roads and rugged, off-road territory. The vehicle eventually stopped in the foothills east of Kanosh, and two people ran away.
A deputy employed a Taser on one suspect, identified as Corey Kanosh, 35, of Fillmore.
