James Chipman (J.C.) Anthon, died Friday, Oct. 28, 2011, after struggling with COPD for many years. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Nov. 4 at Alpine Community Church, 254 W. 2675 North, Layton. In lieu of flowers, make donations to any hospice of your choice. Joseph F. Woolley

Joseph F. Woolley, of Magna, died Sunday, July 31, 2011. Services will be held at noon Friday, Aug. 5, 2011, at the Pleasant Green Chapel, 8739 W. 3000 South. Friends and family may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 South, and Friday from 11 to 11:45 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at Valley View Memorial Park. Top of Utah officers disciplined

In its last meeting, the state council that sanctions Utah peace officers for errant actions dealt with 11 people, at least two of whom are from the Top of Utah.

A number of the issues that sidelined the officers were alcohol-related, including drunken driving and stealing a bottle of whiskey.

ATK bill passes Congress

A federal plan supporting the development of a heavy lift rocket for the U.S. space program, similar to the Ares vehicle being partially built in the Top of Utah, is on its way to President Barack Obama.

The Bingham Canyon mine owned and operated by Kennecott Utah Copper Corp is proposing an expansion to extend its life until 2034.
