Doris Gibbs Nelson, 91, died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012, at her Mantua home. A funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, in the Mantua Ward Chapel, 237 S. Willard Peak Road. Viewing will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 East, Brigham City, and from 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. Saturday at the church. Interment in Mantua Cemetery. Jean Ruth Stokes Gilbert, born March 25, 1948, died of an accidental drowning at her home Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, when a portion of her ashes will be interred at the Mantua Cemetery, 50 S. 400 West. A drum circle is planned, so bring something to pound on if you would like to participate. A luncheon will follow at 3 p.m. at the local chapel, 237 S. Elder Richard Johnson and Sister Jean Johnson, of Mantua, have been called to serve in the Virginia Richmond Mission. They will enter the MTC on Oct. 3.

Elder Andrew Todd Smith, son of Bruce and Stacey Smith, of Roy, will serve in the Guatemala Retalhuleu Mission. He will enter the MTC on Sept. 21.

Leona Jalene Halling Crosthwait, 52, of Ogden, died Thursday, July 28, 2011, at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City. A gathering and celebration of life will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, at Canyon Road Assembly of God, 1390 Canyon Road, Ogden.
