Three go to hospital after river rescue of Layton couple, grandson in Price

PRICE -- Crews rescued a Layton couple and their grandson from the Price River early Friday morning.

A pickup truck towing a trailer with ATVs driven by John Dunkley, 65, was going east on U.S. Route 6 about 12:10 a.m. when Dunkley apparently fell asleep and crossed over the oncoming lane and plunged into the river, Utah Highway Patrol troopers said.

Jaclyn Carver and TJ Cook were married on May 13 in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Bountiful Temple. A reception was held that evening at a church house in Syracuse. An open house was held in Price on May 26.

Firm wants pipeline across historic Utah ranch

PRICE -- An energy company is threatening to use eminent domain to build a natural gas pipeline through an eastern Utah ranch that includes Native American artifacts and rock art.

Utah mine gets 34 citations by US officials

SALT LAKE CITY -- The Horizon coal mine near Price was issued 34 citations for safety violations, with 14 designated significant or substantial, during inspections last month by the federal Mine Safety and Health Administration.

The Salt Lake Tribune said Wednesday the results were close to the average given to 15 coal mines nationwide. Inspectors believe significant or substantial violations have the potential to cause a reasonably serious injury or illness.
