Loss in trailer fire may be $500,000

SNOWVILLE -- A man estimates he lost hundreds of thousands of dollars in belongings when his semitrailer caught fire Saturday afternoon.

Low-flying planes to seek quake faults, aquifers in N. Utah

Low-flying planes armed with technology used to detect enemy submarines will be buzzing the Top of Utah this month. However, these planes will be looking for submerged rocks that will help identify new earthquake faults and aquifers for water management.

Injuries minor in I-84 rollover

SNOWVILLE -- A man and two boys were sent to area hospitals Monday afternoon after a rollover on Interstate 84.

When entering a curve, the driver overcorrected, and the Ford F150 drifted across the road and down an embankment, rolling three times and coming to a rest on its wheels.

SNOWVILLE -- John Applegate, a 73-year-old man from Washington state, died in a rollover on Interstate 84, about five miles east of Snowville.

For the first time in recent memory, Snowville is having a primary

SNOWVILLE — Snowville is having a primary election this year for the first time in... well, as far back as anyone can remember.

The city has six candidates for its two open town council seats, and that’s after one candidate withdrew. Many years this town with 177 residents is scraping to find candidates to run, said Gloria Morgan, town clerk.
