Utah wildlife biologist sues U.S. Army for toxic exposure

SALT LAKE CITY — A Utah wildlife biologist waited 10 years for doctors to suggest her neurological disorders may have been caused by fieldwork she did outside a U.S. Army depot that tested chemical and biological weapons.

Now, Carolyn Bayless is waiting for a judge to decide if she can sue the Army for supposedly causing her disability.

Utahns can now learn what — other than cars — causes the winter pollution that so concerns the Division of Air Quality.

End of munitions destruction in Utah means loss of 1,400 jobs, federal money

Repeat winners rule at Miller Motorsports Park

TOOELE VALLEY -- It was a day for repeat winners at Miller Motorsports Park Sunday as the Larry H. Miller Dealerships Utah Grand Prix came to a close.

Tony Ave dominated the competition in today's SCCA Pro Racing Trans-Am Series race, starting from the pole in the No. 4 Lamers Racing Chevrolet Corvette and putting on a driving clinic, leading all but the first of 33 laps.

On the first lap heading into Turn One, rookie Carlos de Quesada slid his No. 22 Alegra Motorsports Jaguar XJR past Ave to take the early lead. De Quesada led the first lap before Ave regained the point on the next lap. Once Ave took the lead, he never looked back, winning by 16.957 seconds over Doug Harrington and capturing his first Trans-Am Series win of the season.
