Grantsville — With two league losses, it would have been an uphill battle for Da Bears to sweep their fourth consecutive Region 11 softball title.

Five-time defending state 3-A champion Bear River tightened up the league standings Friday with a 4-3 win over previously undefeated Grantsville.

Unbeaten Stansbury took over sole possession of the Region 11 race, with the Bears and Cowboys tied for second place.

TREMONTON — Multiple agencies were called in Wednesday to investigate an apartment containing dangerous chemicals that could potentially be used to make methamphetamine or explosives.

Lynn J. Rose, born September 16, 1956, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013, in Coutts, Alberta, Canada, from a massive heart attack. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at the Tremonton 5th Ward Chapel, 300 S.
