Motorcyclist hurt in collision with car

UINTAH — A motorcyclist broke his arm after another driver made a U-turn in front of him Saturday and the vehicles collided.

Douglas Ray Hartmann, 62, died Monday, June 18, 2012, from an illness. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 21, at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Thursday at the mortuary. S. Ogden woman dies in N.Y. crash; grandson critically injured

SOUTH OGDEN — Suzi Nicholson loved New York City so much she wanted to share it with her 11-year-old grandson, Gabriel Larsen.

The pair had planned a weeklong stay, taking in the sights, including New York Yankee games, said her husband, Dewey Nicholson. “My wife loved to go to New York,” he said Saturday.

But trip was cut tragically short when the New York City cab they were in was struck by a garbage truck on the Long Island Freeway early Saturday morning. Suzi Nicholson died in the crash; Gabriel was critically injured.

NEW YORK -- A taxi wreck on a rain-drenched New York City highway has killed the driver and a South Ogden woman who was taking her grandson to see the city sights. The boy is hospitalized.

OGDEN — More than 300 Democrats turned out Saturday to choose their state delegates, listen to candidates’ speeches and get revved up for November.
