Lakers’ Rich will join Snow hoops in 2015

Snow College men’s basketball coach Rob Nielson has announced that Mason Rich, a 2013 graduate of Bonneville High School, has verbally committed to play for the Badgers. 

Rich will be leaving in July for a two-year LDS Church mission to Peru, and has committed to join the Badgers in the fall of 2015. 

“I’m stoked,” said Rich, “Going on a mission and then coming back to play for Snow feels right. I like the coaches at Snow and think it will be a really good fit.”

In his senior season at Bonneville, Rich averaged 14.2 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. 

Vet finds help with outage concerns

WASHINGTON TERRACE — Power outages may be a necessary annoyance on occasions when maintenance of lines is required, but at least one Washington Terrace resident believes that lack of electricity will be life-threatening.

Ralph D. Claxton, 87, of Washington Terrace, passed away Sunday morning, June 9, 2013, after fighting a brief, but good fight with cancer. He will be remembered with love and affection by all who knew him.

Hugh Jay Moyes

Hugh Jay Moyes, beloved husband, father and brother, returned to our Heavenly Father on June 8, 2013. He was born in Ogden, Utah May 28, 1931 to Hugh Jesse and Anafred Banford Moyes. Jay attended Pingree Elementary School and Lewis Jr. High School in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School in 1949. On August 1, 1952, Jay married his high school and college sweetheart Ann Lund. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City temple.

Tax increase planned for road repair

WASHINGTON TERRACE — In 2006, Utah State University conducted an analysis of the roads in Washington Terrace. It was determined that it would cost approximately $300,000 per year to maintain the city’s roadways.

Sky divers land at Terrace school after mile-long descent

WASHINGTON TERRACE — Students at Washington Terrace Elementary School watched in awe Thursday, cheering as three men — in a flight originating from the Ogden-Hinckley Airport — jumped from a Cessna 182 more than a mile above the ground.
