Lawmakers backing off waterways access bill

SALT LAKE CITY — Rep. Dixon Pitcher, R-Ogden, will not push legislation this session to address access to public waterways after he and another state lawmaker met with one member of the House leadership team to discuss the bill.

Pitcher said he and Rep. Kay McIff, R-Richfield, both agreed to back off legislation, potentially impacting the access of fisherman to public waters after meeting with Majority Whip Rep. Greg Hughes, R-Draper.
