WEST BOUNTIFUL -- Taci Carroll may not remember much about the first few years of her life when she lived in Haiti, but the experience forever tied her heart to the country.

WEST BOUNTIFUL -- South Davis Sewer District customers needn't worry about fee increases being part of 2012's $10.3 million budget, approved earlier this month.

Fees will stay the same despite an increase in the total operation and maintenance budget of 3.8 percent, said Dal Wayment, general manager for SDSD.

FARMINGTON — Two defendants accused in the theft of a private safe containing $200,000 had court hearings Tuesday.

Steven Hogge’s attorney, Mark Arnold, met with Judge David Connors and prosecutors in the judge’s chamber before court began.

WEST BOUNTIFUL -- Gary Turley is among those people who do not trust banks.

For more than 20 years, whenever he had a little extra cash, he would place a $100 bill, a $2 bill or a silver dollar inside a safe he kept in a back bedroom.

Turley, 52, finally reached his goal of saving almost $200,000. He planned to pay off his mortgage during the first week of September.
