John Hodges, 51, was driving west at 1:36 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, on U.S. Highway 20 in Ucon, Idaho, when his 2017 Freightliner struck the guard rail on the right shoulder of the road and came to rest on top of an overpass, police said.
Hodges was taken by ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, where he was pronounced dead.
He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The crash blocked one lane of the highway for about two and a half hours, Idaho State Police said.
