CLEARFIELD -- The city is hoping to teach people about one of the most basic needs in life: food.
There will be two free classes at the Community Center that are sponsored and taught by "Food Sense Nutrition Education" via Utah State University Extension. The classes, "Viva Vegetables" and "Food Sense Basics" will be in August at the center, 140 E. Center St.
The classes provide information and demonstrations about selection, preparing, storing and cooking with vegetables. Each month, the class focuses on a different in-season vegetable.
Classes are Aug. 2 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., then Aug. 16 from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. People aged 12 and older can participate.
Call the Clearfield Community Services Department at 801-525-2790 for more information.
