Lagoon honored for 125th anniversary

FARMINGTON -- The city has officially recognized Lagoon on the 125th anniversary of the theme park.

During a recent city council meeting, a proclamation citing Lagoon's positive contributions to the community was read and officials from the company were honored.

The company was started July 15, 1886, in Farmington and has become more than an amusement park, said Mayor Scott Harbertson, who gave company owners a commemorative coin to mark the occasion.
