INDIANAPOLIS -- Veterans of the first Gulf War in Iraq are being invited to attend this year's Brickyard 400 in Indianapolis.
The Indianapolis Star reports city officials and race organizers will honor veterans of Operation Desert Storm and Desert Shield veterans at the opening ceremonies July 31.
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is asking veterans to wear their wartime military attire. Participants will receive two race tickets.
The offer is in recognition of the 20th anniversary of the 1991 war.
Veterans who wish to participate should contact the Indianapolis-Marion County Veteran Services Office.
