Water truck, train collide in Tooele County

TOOELE -- Authorities say a truck driver is in critical condition after a Union Pacific freight train and a water-hauling vehicle collided in Tooele County.

Public safety officials the accident occurred about 10:12 a.m. on state Route 36 near Faust Road, about 20 miles south of Tooele.

The truck driver was ejected from the vehicle and is suffering serious head injuries. A medical helicopter was dispatched to the scene.

Other details were not immediately available.

Union Pacific has shut down rail traffic near the accident.
