Utah teen dead, 2 injured in boat crash at Lake Powell

PAGE, Ariz. -- A 15-year-old Utah boy is dead after a boat he was on crashed into a rock at Lake Powell in northeastern Arizona. The National Park Service says the teen from the town of Hurricane was on a Boy Scout outing. Another scout and an adult were also injured.

Park Service rangers say a group of scouts and adults were riding in a boat back to a camp after dinner Thursday night. The boat apparently struck a rock outcropping. The impact tossed the 15-year-old out of the boat.

The crash is under investigation by the Coconino County Sheriff's Office and the Park Service.
