FARMINGTON -- A two-day jury trial has been set for a man accused of kidnapping his former in-laws.

Joshua Latoice Cronin, 30, of Sandy, appeared Wednesday in 2nd District Court before Judge David Hamilton.

Cronin entered not-guilty pleas on March 30 to two counts of first-degree felony aggravated kidnapping, two counts of third-degree felony aggravated assault and one count of attempted violation of a protective order, a class B misdemeanor.

The trial is set for Oct. 27 and Oct. 28 in Layton.

Police said Cronin met with his ex-in-laws in Syracuse so they could pick up their grandson on Oct. 6, 2010. However, police said Cronin ended up holding the couple at gunpoint and demanding to see their daughter, his ex-wife, before eventually letting them go.

Cronin was arrested on Oct. 7, 2010, at the Rainbow Hotel in Wendover, Nev.
