Clearfield Farmers Market gets new location

CLEARFIELD -- The Farmers Market is an open air market bringing people the freshness of home-grown foods and other crafts.

The market is open from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. every Wednesday through the end of October (weather permitting). The new location is on the grassy area in front of the Clearfield Aquatic Center, 825 S. State St.

The Clearfield Farmers Market committee has lined up fun contests and free entertainment each Wednesday as well as food vendors to supplement the fresh produce and artisan vendors -- providing a community "mini-event" each week.

New this year is a "Little Seedlings Market" for young entrepreneurs ages 14 and under (must be accompanied by an adult 18 and over), and are invited to sell garden produce, do face painting, crafts, etc.

Events include other items too, including live entertainment, baby crawling contest, and a watermelon-eating contest. For more information, contact Clearfield Community Services at 801-525-2790.
