SALT LAKE CITY -- A red air alert has been issued for two Utah counties.
The Utah Department of Environmental Quality is issuing a red air alert for Salt Lake and Davis counties.
A red air alert prohibits wood burning and people are urged to voluntarily reduce their driving.
Additionally, a yellow air alert is being issued for Tooele, Weber and Utah counties.
The yellow advisory is not as severe as the red, but residents are also asked to cut back on driving when they can. Wood burning is not prohibited.
