FARMINGTON -- Progress continues on the $4.8 million library in downtown Farmington.
On Tuesday, the Davis County Commission approved a $95,284 agreement with Craig Johnson & Associates, of Salt Lake City, to provide shelving for the new Farmington main branch library, currently under construction.
Craig Johnson & Associates was the third-highest bidder.
The library is part of the $20 million Davis County Memorial Courthouse campus renovation taking place on the block of 28 E. State St.
The Salt Lake City firm, one of five companies to submit a bid for the shelving project, offered "the lowest, responsive bid," said Curtis Koch, Davis County director of procurement and contracts.
One lower bid submitted for the work was a partial bid from a Florida-based company, while the second-lowest bid was withdrawn by the company because of an error in calculation resulting from working from an outdated pricing sheet, Koch said.
The shelving work has been included in the overall cost of the campus renovation, Davis County Clerk/Auditor Steve Rawlings said.
The campus renovation is scheduled to be completed by late fall 2012.
