OGDEN -- The executive director of Prevent Child Abuse Utah is retiring.

Anne Freimuth will end her nine years at PCAU, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing child abuse through statewide education and training, on Dec. 31.

During her tenure, Freimuth oversaw the growth of PCAU prevention programs, including those focused on Internet safety, teen dating violence and in-home visitation programs.

"I am very sincere when I say this has been the best job. The mission of preventing child abuse could not be more important or compelling," Freimuth said in a news release.

Robert Hunter, president of United Way of Northern Utah, described Freimuth as a strong, compassionate person who will be missed.

Before PCAU, she was the executive director at the Weber Morgan Children's Justice Center and Your Community Connection.
