Loss in trailer fire may be $500,000

SNOWVILLE -- A man estimates he lost hundreds of thousands of dollars in belongings when his semitrailer caught fire Saturday afternoon.

Sean Reddish, 40, was driving west on Interstate 84 when he saw smoke coming out of his trailer about 4 p.m., said Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Lee Perry. He pulled over near mile marker 14 and discovered the trailer was on fire.

Reddish called 911 and moved his unhitched truck away from the trailer. By the time firefighters arrived, the trailer was fully engulfed.

Two specialty all-terrain vehicles and a four-wheeler were inside. There was also expensive equipment that could track the vehicles' speed and location and a living quarters for Reddish inside the trailer.

Reddish estimated the total value to be between $250,000 and $500,000, Perry said. He works for a Washington-based company that promotes the sports equipment, Perry added.
