OGDEN -- Weber State's men's and women's track and field teams have both earned academic honors from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
In addition, two Wildcats, Sarah Callister and Zach Parry, earned All-Academic individual honors.
The Weber State women's team posted a 3.48 team GPA, the seventh best in the nation. The Wildcats women were one of six teams from the Big Sky that earned team All-Academic honors.
Callister was named to the women's Division I All-Academic team.
Callister posted a 4.00 GPA in nursing.
The WSU men's squad recorded a team GPA of 3.08. The 'Cats were one of four teams from the Big Sky recognized. Parry was named to the men's All-Academic team.
BYU's men's squad was also honored, and was given the USTFCCCA Scholar Indoor Team of the Year award.
Both Utah State's men's and women's teams as well as Utah's women's squad earned the national team honor. Twelve Aggies, 20 Cougars and three Utes were named to the All-Academic teams.
To earn team honors the team must have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or better. To qualify for the All-Academic honors, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or better and must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships.
