ELKO, Nev. -- Two defendants are set to stand trial next year in the murder of a 16-year-old West Wendover High School student.
The Elko Daily Free Press reports (http://bit.ly/mXPMAt ) 19-year-old Toni Fratto's trial is set to begin Feb. 13. Her 18-year-old boyfriend Kody Patten's trial is scheduled to start March 12.
Both pleaded not guilty to felony charges related to the March beating death of Micaela (Mick-KAY'-la) Costanzo during a joint appearance Monday in an Elko court.
Charges include kidnapping, murder, conspiracy to commit murder and/or kidnapping, murder committed during the perpetration of a kidnapping with the use of a deadly weapon, destroying evidence and attempted willful destruction of evidence.
Costanzo was last seen at the high school after track practice. Her body was found in a shallow grave near West Wendover.
