Road work to slow traffic near schools

Ogden -- The 7th Street road reconstruction project could delay people taking their children to schools today through November, the Utah Department of Transportation advised Tuesday in a news release.

The project has closed this street to through-traffic from Ogden Avenue to Adams Avenue.

Because 7th Street is a common route to schools in this area of Ogden, including Ben Lomond High, Highland Junior High and Bonneville Elementary, motorists are advised to allow extra travel time and plan to use alternative routes.

Construction is expected to be completed by early November, the release states, which means the first third of the school year will be affected by the ongoing roadwork.

The 7th Street Reconstruction Project is an Ogden city streets project, with management and funding oversight provided by UDOT.
