Pot grow found in middle of Sandy

SANDY -- Sandy police have arrested one of two suspects after finding a marijuana grow in a field behind a sporting goods store.

Officials say a private citizen alerted police after spotting the potted plants days ago on private property near 230 West and 10600 South in Sandy.

Police set up surveillance video and allegedly saw two men watering the plants late Tuesday night.

A 43-year-old man from Sandy was arrested, but a second male suspect escaped the scene.

Officers seized about 100 plants in the bust.
