Reader finds bus cheaper than Frontrunner

On Friday I had an interesting experience riding the UTA transportation system from Sunset to West Jordan. I was planning to take bus #470 to the Clearfield station and buy a round-trip ticket on the Frontrunner train to significantly shorten my trip time from Sunset to West Jordan. I figured it would be much faster to use Frontrunner than riding the much-slower bus. After all, didn't Frontrunner have a top speed of 79 mph? The bus seems like such a slowpoke.

At the last minute at the Clearfield station I changed my mind. I decided to skip Frontrunner because I didn't want to spend $7.50 for the Frontrunner round trip. So I used busses and Trax for my trip.

And so what was the outcome? I saved $5.25 and my round-trip travel time was only 30 minutes longer than I originally planned.

Lesson learned: take the bus. It's much cheaper, at least for the trip I took. Does Frontrunner save people a lot of time?
