Checkpoint in NSL set for drunken drivers

NORTH SALT LAKE -- The North Salt Lake Police Department will conduct a sobriety checkpoint Friday as part of its ongoing initiative to remove impaired drivers from city roadways.

The police department has made it a top priority to reduce impaired driving incidents, according to a news release. The location of the checkpoint will be 500 E. 1100 North, a location selected due to heavy traffic volume entering North Salt Lake. The checkpoint will begin during the evening Friday and continue until the early morning hours of Sept. 3.
