Lt. Gov. Greg Bell names new chief of staff

SALT LAKE CITY — Utah Lt. Gov. Greg Bell is appointing a former congressional staffer as his new chief of staff.

Cody Stewart will begin overseeing daily operations in the lieutenant governor’s office Sept. 6.

Bell says Stewart will also advise him on policy issues, promote state initiatives on energy and public lands and serve as the office’s primary spokesman.

Stewart was most recently the legislative director for Utah Republican Rep. Rob Bishop.

Stewart has worked for Bishop for almost a decade. His duties including working as the executive director for the Western Congressional Caucus, which Bishop chaired.
