PROVO -- Police say they have arrested a suspect who they believe is responsible for shooting out the windows of a Provo police officer's patrol car numerous times.
The officer was off duty at home Thursday night when the suspect drove by and fired an Airsoft gun at his patrol car, shattering a window. It was the eighth time in the past 18 months his window has been shot out.
Authorities say the officer was standing on his roof making a repair at the time, and followed the suspect to a home in Provo. Police say they later arrested a 50-year-old man when he and his wife tried to drive away from the house.
Officials say the officer has racked up hundreds of dollars in damages in the series of shootings.
