MILLCREEK -- Authorities say a 65-year-old man is recovering from minor scrapes and dehydration after falling off a trail and tumbling down a ravine in Mill Creek Canyon.
Search and rescue teams were called to the Church Fork Canyon area around 7 p.m. Wednesday after bicyclists heard the man's cries for help.
Unified Police Lt. Manfred Lassig says the man became exhausted trying to free himself from thick brush and trees.
Lassig says rescuers gave the man an IV, lowered him on a rescue board about 500 feet to a nearby trial then carried him to the trailhead.
Police say the man was taken to an area hospital but is expected to be fine. They say he was not dressed for overnight temperatures in the 40s.
Police did not identify the man.
