Hurricane man sentenced on arson charges

ST. GEORGE -- A Hurricane man has been sentenced to prison after being convicted on two counts of arson.

The Spectrum of St. George reports (http://bit.ly/r0m6ij ) that 30-year-old Kyle Bryden Harper was sentenced Wednesday in St. George to two consecutive prison terms of one to 15 years for burning down a shed and setting fire to several vehicles. He was charged with arson and aggravated arson.

Harper's defense attorney had argued that his client's behavior largely arose from alcohol problems, but noted that he has been sober since being arrested.

Harper expressed remorse and says he wants to pay restitution to the victims of his crimes.
