Catholic Community Services competing for $5,000 charitable prize

OGDEN -- Catholic Community Services of Northern Utah is competing to win $5,000 from the Pepsi Refresh Project.

"If we win, we'll be able to purchase a full supply of hygiene items for clients in need," states a news release from Catholic Community Services of Northern Utah and the Joyce Hansen Hall Food Bank.

"We help with more than just food," said Marcie Valdez, director of Northern Utah Catholic Community Services. She said sometimes people don't realize that her agency helps with people's needs beyond groceries.

The release asks residents to visit www.refresheverything.com/hygienekitsutah to vote.

Those who participate may vote for the agency once per day through the end of September by logging in to the Pepsi site, texting or voting through Facebook.
