OGDEN -- Daniel Palmer, 33, was arrested after driving under the influence, crashing his car and subsequently driving without a front right tire.

Utah Highway Patrol started looking for Palmer on Monday, after a concerned driver reported his gold Jeep Cherokee driving unsafely on southbound Interstate 15.

Around 8 p.m. he ran off the road near Mile Marker 338, struck an outside concrete barrier and tore up the front of his car, losing his right front tire in the process, Sgt. Shane Kiesel said.

A Davis County deputy spotted the three-tire Jeep as it turned off the freeway and north onto 1900 West.

Once the deputy pulled Palmer over near 3300 South and UHP troopers caught up, they found he was under the influence of prescription drugs, Kiesel said.

Palmer was booked into Weber County Jail for driving under the influence and failure to remain at the scene of an accident, class-B misdemeanors, as well as improper usage of lanes, a class-C misdemeanor.
