SALT LAKE CITY -- Fire restrictions in southern Utah and northern Arizona are being lifted after recent rainfall in the region.
Color Country Fire Management officials say the restrictions in Washington County, Utah, and the remote Arizona strip are being rescinded Friday.
Officials say campfires will now be allowed outside of developed areas and smoking will be allowed on public lands.
Campfires will also be allowed in two campgrounds inside of Zion National Park and on the National Park Service portion of the Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument.
Firefighters have battled multiple wildfires this summer around Zion and in the Arizona strip, which is south of the Utah border and east of the Nevada border.
