Utah forest rangers warn of bear sightings

VERNAL -- Rangers are warning visitors to watch out for bears after getting reports of the animals stopping by campsites in northeastern Utah's Ashley National Forest.

Officials say visitors reported a bear in the Greens Draw area about one mile southeast of Lodgepole Campground.

Federal officials are working with the Utah Department of Wildlife Resources to set a live trap in the area. Warning signs have been posted.

Officials warn visitors who see a bear acting aggressively to make noise to scare the animal and raise their arms to make themselves look bigger.

Rangers also warn visitors to store food out of reach of bears to avoid tempting the animals.
