Officers bust $1.8M pot garden in Kearns warehouse

KEARNS -- Authorities say they've arrested two suspects after raiding a marijuana-growing operation worth $1.8 million in a Kearns warehouse.

Unified police detective Shane Manwaring said officers found more than 150 marijuana plants after serving a search warrant Wednesday. They had been monitoring the building since they received a tip about the garden months ago.

Authorities say the growers had a sophisticated set-up that featured lights, timers and an irrigation system.

Officers arrested two people at the warehouse and are looking for others who might be involved.

The owner of the warehouse tells the Deseret News he had no idea the property was being used to grow marijuana.
