Syracuse council approves primary vote totals

SYRACUSE -- The final details of the primary election in this community have been finalized.

At a recent meeting, the city council approved a canvass of the primary election results, which included seven candidates vying for three council seats this fall. One candidate, Chris Lessig, was eliminated in the primary.

Karianne Lisonbee topped the field with 566 votes, followed by Craig Johnson at 524. Incumbent councilmen Doug Peterson, Alan Clark and Matt Ocana followed with 428, 417 and 397 votes respectively. Dan Schuler was the last candidate to qualify for the Nov. 8 election with 359 votes. Lessig finished with 127 votes.

Cassie Brown, city recorder, said there were 980 votes cast, which represents approximately 9.35 percent of registered city voters.
