LAYTON -- The state's sugar beet industry will be the topic presented at this month's Sons of Utah Pioneers meeting, 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Davis County Central Branch Library in Layton, 155 N. Wasatch Drive.
Presenters will discuss Utah's sugar beet industry from pioneer times to 1900, said Stephen G. Handy, spokesman for the Sons of Utah Pioneers Snow Horse Chapter group.
The presentation will include information about Davis County's once-thriving industry, including the Layton Sugar Company, Handy said.
Guest and history buffs are welcome to attend.
