Clearfield gives useless parcel to UTA

CLEARFIELD — The city council approved giving the Utah Department of Transportation a piece of property that is of no use to the city.

The city owns an insignificant piece of property, which means its value is less than $75,000, in UDOT’s right of way for State Road 126.

With the 0.4 acre property’s location, size, unusual and irregular dimensions, it has no prospect for any practical or beneficial use to the city or its residents, according to the approved resolution.

Since UDOT is willing and able to accept ownership of the parcel, the resolution states it’s in the public’s best interest to transfer ownership.

This triangular-shaped parcel is in the vicinity of State Street and Center Street.

This was approved during a special meeting this week.
