Utah has gotten its first taste of winter this season.
Snow fell Wednesday night and Thursday in the mountains along the Wasatch Front, and temperatures took a mighty dip, sending unexpected shivers well before Halloween.
Today, those in the Top of Utah can expect some showers and a high of 50, according to www.accuweather.com. Meteorologists expect the skies to remain cloudy tonight and for the temperature to dip to 42 degrees.
Things are expected to brighten over the weekend -- good news for fans of farmers markets, maize mazes and haunted houses.
Saturday will be partly sunny, with a high of 57, a climate that's perfect for hiking and biking area mountain trails. It will remain partly cloudy Saturday night, with a low of 42.
On Sunday, it will be mostly sunny, with the high a delightful 62, meteorologists say. That night should be remain clear, with a low of 45 degrees, so wrap up in a blanket or wear a jacket if you decide to venture outside to gaze at the stars.
