SALT LAKE CITY -- Are the girls playing tennis or dodgeball?
The state 3-A, 4-A and 5-A girls tennis tournaments have been rescheduled, moved around and adjusted several times over the past two days as UHSAA official try to create a level playing field for the state's elite athletes as they dodge rain storms and an untimely cold snap.
The 3-A tournament will start a day late, with action starting at 9 a.m. today at BYU. If needed, the finals will be staged on Monday at 3 p.m. at a site yet to be determined.
The 4-A and 5-A touraments got through a couple of rounds on Thursday and Friday, setting up what could be some exciting semifinals and finals today at Salt Lake City's Liberty Park.
Action could be moved to the Sports Mall and Salt Lake Swim and Tennis Club. Sports fans are encouraged to visit www.uhsaa.org for the latest information.
4-A tournmament
Skyline, East and Highland are battling with defending champion Bountiful for division supremacy.
Bountiful's Kanela Adamson, Kasey Bacon, and Nikki Russell are still alive at their first, second and third singles divisions, respectively.
5-A tournament
Davis is locked in a battle with Alta, Lone Peak and Viewmont after two rounds.
The Darts' Alexis Turley and Brianna Turley at No. 1 and 2 singles, while Davis and Viewmont's doubles teams are also alive.
